Here are some FAQ's to help you know more about the process.
- How can funds be withdrawn directly from my account?
- Only if you say so. No one can withdraw funds from your account electronically unless you authorize it. It is called ACH (Automated Clearing House) processing, the same as used for automatic payment of insurance premiums. It is highly secure and heavily regulated.
- Are these transactions safe?
- Yes. It's more safe than writing a check – nothing to be lost in the mail or seen by unauthorized individuals. When you sign up for eGive, you provide only the information that is printed on the face of your check. Over 18 billion EFT/ACH transactions are securely processed each year in the United States.
- Is the eGive web site secure?
- Yes. eGive uses industry standard methods to secure their web site. You can examine their credentials by visiting their web site.
- When will the money be taken from my account?
- When you specify – one time, weekly, semi-monthly or monthly. If a recurring payment date falls on a weekend or banking holiday, the transaction will occur on the next business day.
- How much does it cost me?
- Nothing! There is no charge to you, and the church receives 100% of your gift. We are directly billed a very reasonable monthly processing fee.
- Can I test eGive?
- Yes. Test eGive by checking the "One-Time Gift" in the amount and date section of the sign-up process.
- Is eGive for regular giving only?
- No. You can also remit such payments as BigStuf, Mission Trip or Financial Peace University registrations. Remember to check the "One-Time Gift" in the amount and date section of the sign-up process and indicate exactly what your payment is for.
- If I don't write checks, how do I keep my bank balance straight?
- The same way you would with an automatic insurance payment, or with your ATM card. You know what day a payment will be processed – just record your gift in your check register on that date.
- Can I give by credit or debit card?
- No. We have decided to only accept giving by processing ACH transactions from your checking or savings account. We are reluctant to encourage credit card use, and it greatly reduces church's cost of administration.
- How can I keep a record of my giving?
- In several ways:
- Your check register and bank statements will contain a record.
- You can sign on to your eGive account at any time from your own computer to see and print complete reports of your giving.
- The church has a complete record of your giving. You receive giving statements at least twice a year, and can request one from the office at any time.
- What if I change banks or change account numbers, or want to change the amount or schedule of my giving?
- You have 24/7 online access to your account at eGive. You can make changes whenever you want from your own computer.
- I still have a question- how do I get it answered?
- Call Church Administrator Hal Hunter during office hours at 777-1238, or click here to email Hal.
- I'm ready to do it! What's next?
